Frequently asked questions.

Questions we hear from working crews about this product.

How does the pricing work?

The Bait Container costs £37.99. Each container needs its own control box, supplied free at £0 when you buy a year’s release credits for £114.40. The annual credit pack always costs £114.40, whatever your delay. Longer delays include fewer releases at a higher equivalent cost per release. For example, 260 releases at 44p each and 130 releases at 88p each both cost £114.40. The 3-day allowance is 104 releases, equivalent to £1.10 each, and the 5-day allowance is 52 releases, equivalent to £2.20 each. Credits are valid for 12 months. Other allowances are calculated automatically using the existing five-day, 52-week fishing-year model.

Does each container need its own control box?

Yes. Every Bait Container set includes one dedicated control box and its own annual release pack. Ordering five sets includes five containers, five control boxes and five annual release packs. You do not need to add a replacement control box separately.

What is the Bait Container?

A timed bait-release device that protects bait early in the soak, then releases it when it’s most effective.

What problem does it solve?

It reduces bait loss to non-target species and helps crews bait smarter, not more often.

How does timed release help catches?

You can align bait release with peak feeding windows, improving consistency and reducing wasted bait.

How much bait can it save?

Many crews report major reductions in bait use. Typical savings are around 50% to 75%, depending on fishery and soak style.

Does it reduce fuel and steaming time?

Yes. By cutting unnecessary re-bait trips, fuel use can drop significantly, and crews spend less time running gear.

Is it difficult to use?

No. It’s designed to be simple on deck, even in bad weather and cold hands.

How deep can it be used?

Rated for commercial depths up to 183 metres (100 fathoms).

How long can I delay bait release?

Choose the exact delay you need in hours or days, up to 30 days. We programme it before delivery. Release accuracy is within one minute over 30 days.

Can I change the Bait Container delay at sea?

The Bait Container runs the fixed delay chosen for your order. It repeats that countdown each time you close the container. If you need a different preset, contact us about your options.

How do I mount it in my pot?

The Bait Container is designed to fit suitable rectangular, D-shaped and WA batten creels. Secure it inside the gear, leaving the case free to open and the bait bag free to drop. Check the owner’s guide for setup.

How do I charge it?

The control box has up to four months of battery life and can be recharged wirelessly when needed. One wireless charger is supplied for every five Bait Containers ordered, with extra chargers available separately.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International shipping is available.
