Fish Canada + Workboat Canada, Moncton: Taking Bait Saviour to the Canadian Fleet

Mo has just wrapped up a brilliant trip to Canada for Fish Canada and Workboat Canada at the Moncton Coliseum Complex and it was exactly the kind of show we love: proper conversations with people who know the industry inside out, real-world questions, and plenty of hands-on demos.

We exhibited alongside our Canadian distributor Fipec (Les industries Fipec), which gave us a strong local base on the floor and made it easy to connect with fishermen, suppliers, and industry partners across the region.

Setting up with Fipec and getting the full line-up on display

With Daniel of Fipec, we set the stand up to make it simple for people to walk up and immediately understand what they’re looking at. We brought the full line up so visitors could see the system as it’s intended to be used, not just a single component on a table.

At the centre of the stand was the Bait Container, our timed bait-release device designed to protect bait from non-target species and the environment, then release it at pre-set times chosen by the operator. It’s built for harsh marine conditions, runs with minute-level timing accuracy, and can schedule releases up to 20 days ahead. The system is designed to cut bait consumption significantly, which also means fewer unnecessary trips to sea and lower fuel spend.

Alongside that, Mo also showcased WaTS, giving visitors a clear view of how the wider Bait Saviour technology offering fits together for modern fleets.

Live demos, real questions, and the kind of feedback you can’t fake

The best part of any show is the conversations. Mo & Daniel spent the event walking people through how the system works in practical fishing terms: how the timing is set, how the approach supports better bait management, and how it’s designed to fit into day-to-day operations without adding hassle.

A lot of interest naturally landed on the “why” behind timed baiting and what it changes on the water: better control, less wasted bait, and fewer runs that don’t need doing. That’s exactly the point of the system. Give crews the ability to decide precisely when bait is released, then let the kit do the work.

Up close with the kit

Having the equipment physically there made a big difference. People could get hands-on, look at the build, ask the detail questions, and properly picture it in their own gear and workflow.

Canada reminded us what “cold” actually means

It wouldn’t be a Canada trip without the weather making itself known. With snow on the ground and temperatures down at -20°C, you felt it the second you stepped outside. It was a proper reminder that equipment has to be built to handle real conditions, not ideal ones. Safe to say the heated buildings were appreciated.

A solid trip, rounded off with a Toblerone and a long delay

After a successful show, there was only one thing left to do: head back, take stock, and celebrate a strong trip.

Mo’s airport victory snack of choice was a Toblerone, which felt like a fitting way to end it… although it apparently didn’t quite last the entire 14-hour delay.

The post-show Toblerone at the airport. A well-earned “we did it” moment, even if the delay tried its best to ruin the celebration.

Thanks for having us

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared feedback, and a special thanks to Fipec (Les industries Fipec) for exhibiting with us and helping make the week such a success.
